The federal government earned a “D” for federal coverage of treatments to help smokers quit in our 2021 “State of Tobacco Control” report. Tobacco use is a serious addiction and continues to kill over 480,000 Americans each year. Additionally, smoking increases the risk of the most severe impacts of COVID-19, making ending tobacco use more important than ever.
