TACFL in Clifton Springs

The Tobacco Action Coalition of the Finger Lakes (TACFL) was delighted to provide an educational presentation at the Clifton Springs Library to a group of adult community members at the Library’s October Lunch & Learn program.

TACFL team member and community engagement coordinator, Tracy Brown-Simmons, shared information with attendees on what vaping is, what devices can look like, nicotine and addiction, and why youth are attracted to vaping.

Attendees nailed the “Vaping Quiz”!

The benefits of a tobacco-free, smoke-free, and vape-free outdoors were explained, as well as how communities benefit from those policies. Additionally, information was shared on tobacco retail density (what it is) and tobacco retail licensing (why it matters).

Helpful resources were provided, and attendees left with information on how to access free American Lung Association training on how to talk to youth about vaping, as well as educational literature. Additional resources for community engagement were provided.

Clifton Springs, NY is a unique and lovely community. Let’s keep it that way!

(A special thanks to the Clifton Springs Library and program coordinator, Becky Sloane.)
