NYS has banned vaping anywhere cigarettes are banned. Vaping among high school students in New York State doubled between 2014 and 2016 and, like cigarettes, e-cigarettes are aggressively marketed to make them as alluring as possible. E-cigarette liquid typically contains nicotine, and nicotine is highly addictive and harmful to adolescent and young adult developing brains. Banning vaping where cigarettes are banned is one more way the state is protecting youth from the lethal effects of nicotine addiction.
